Step Into Twilight in Lorwyn Eclipsed!
Magic: The Gathering’s Lorwyn Eclipsed revisits the enchanting plane of Lorwyn and Shadowmoor, bringing back fan-favourite creature types like Kithkin, Boggarts, Merrows, and Elves.
This set is heavily focused on counters, colour synergies, and creature-type-matters effects, introducing some funny gameplay mechanics:
-
Blight: Weaken your own forces to unleash devastating effects. This new keyword action lets you place a designated number of -1/-1 counters onto a creature you control as an alternative cost to power up your spells.
-
Vivid: Capitalize on multi-colour masteries. This reward mechanic scales in power based on how many different colours are represented among the permanents you control on the battlefield.
-
Transforming DFCs: Witness the dual nature of the plane. Double-faced cards return to showcase iconic characters shifting between their bright Lorwyn selves and their dark Shadowmoor counterparts.
-
Kindred: Revisit classic tribal gameplay. This returning card type applies creature typals to non-creature cards, allowing your instants, sorceries, and enchantments to share a bond with your Elves or Faeries.
-
Changeling and Persist: Command every strategy at once. Classic mechanics return to support the set, giving your creatures all creature types simultaneously or letting them shrug off death with a -1/-1 counter.
Why I Love This Set: Because Elves really needed all that extra power, didn't they?
